Activities, Goals and Objectives
The main activities of the Log House Manufacturers Association are to raise public awareness and provide as much information as possible about companies involved in the design, manufacturing, construction, and full turnkey installation of log houses. The Association aims to properly inform individuals who wish to design and build high-quality log buildings, helping them navigate the market and select the companies or brands that best support the realization of their dream of owning a log house, sauna, or a fully equipped countryside homestead. With the support of architects and structural engineers, the Association assists in preparing projects that comply with all technical, construction, and regulatory requirements applicable to such buildings.
Main Goals and Objectives:
1. Unite companies engaged in the log house business that operate in an organized and high-quality manner.
2. Initiate the drafting of “Technical Requirements and Regulations” for log buildings, which all companies and craftsmen operating in this field in Lithuania must follow without exception. These technical requirements and regulations are unambiguous and intended for all stakeholders – from designers, manufacturers, and builders/contractors to owners and operators of log buildings. They already exist.
3. Based on the technical requirements and regulations, create a Log Building Standard, giving it the title “Technical Requirements for the Design and Construction of Log Buildings.” This already exists.
4. Strive to have the carefully drafted, common “technical requirements and regulations” incorporated as a section of one of Lithuania’s “Construction Technical Regulations.” Alternatively, find another legally approved method to formalize these requirements. Actions are being carried out.
5. Ensure that the companies joining the “Log Homes Manufacturers Association,” abbreviated as RNGA, are those that are actively seeking to contribute, in the near future, to the swift formalization of the “Technical Requirements and Regulations.” These companies, once prepared, will follow exclusively the Log Buildings Standard – “Technical Requirements for the Design and Construction of Log Buildings” – in their operations.
6. Strive for the Lithuanian authorities to find a compromise that allows residents of Lithuania to design, construct, and legally live in a residential log house, regardless of the A+ energy efficiency class.
Other Goals and Objectives:
- Collect technical information and prepare exclusive illustrated documentation that describes and visually presents technologies, structural solutions, and various joints specifically used or applicable in the design and construction of log buildings.
- Inform the Lithuanian public about the existence of such technical documentation and that only the members of this association use the information prepared by professionals.
- Strive to ensure that companies engaged in the production and construction of log houses, working or wishing to work according to universally understood “Technical Requirements and Regulations” points, join the “Lithuanian Log House Manufacturers Association.”
- Represent the interests of members at exhibitions, in government institutions, and official organizations.
- Represent the interests of members abroad, expanding the market geography.
- Collaborate with foreign equivalent associations and organizations.
- Coordinate the activities of the members.
- Carry out inspections of the buildings.
- Increase the competitiveness of the companies and the industry itself.
We are convinced that the existence of technical requirements and regulations will further motivate the industry to excel and deliver exceptionally high-quality log houses to the market.
